एवमुक्तवार्जुनः सङ्ख्ये रथोपस्थ उपाविशत् ।
विसृज्य सशरं चापं शोकसंविग्नमानसः ।।
a reporter saw me thus.
and reported that sorrowing and miserable, i relinquished my wits and sank down, hiding from mySelf, towards the far end of my being.
i folded myself into a corner of this world, as if lost, as if defeated.
Unable to resist the emotional fancies, unable to withstand the enormous pulls of raaga and dvesha. Unable to swim in the over ambitious mental currents. Unable to detach from the burdens of self-imposed unrelenting obligations. Unable to see through the complex lattices, arrays and matrices conjured up by my super phenomenal brain.
i simply caved in.
i just gave up.
i felt beaten.
i felt defeated.
Remember friends, if your smartphone is really high end, if your car is the latest lamborghini, then on reaching a crash situation, it will no longer be operable. None would dare operate the smartest smartphone or the slickest car when it puttered and stopped. One would simply get another and move on.
Contrast it with the handy affordable Nokia 1210 or the Maruti Alto...it just has an infinite lifetime...it runs without being shorted by any event. Even a lightening bolt leaves it scarred or bruised yet dignified and smiling.
So thus it was reported, a giant tree couldn't bear nature's fury.
Thus ends Chapter 1 of the Bhagavad Gita. A chapter of high Contrast. Of brilliant hues and shades of Creation. Offering a most extraordinary description of the range of virtues, abilities, strengths and desires of this infinite Universe.
And. AND. and the 1st chapter of the Bhagavad Gita gives a guideline for anyone wanting Freedom. It is a perfect plan for anyone seeking Freedom. It simply, directly, effortlessly spells out the most effective situation for the one wishing to meet OneSelf. For the one wanting to meet the Lord.
A gale force storm. A situation far too mighty for one's brain power. A phenomenon that can strike straight at one's weakest link or is emphatic enough to blow apart one's strongest link.
And what for? Just so that one may awaken from slunber. So that one may Seek the Self. So that one may turn inwards. So that one may turn one's sight to the Soul that has been forgotten. That has been shelved in the comfy humdrum mundane planes of existence.
Thus ends the first chapter of the Bhagavad Gita. With a perfect blueprint for attaining Unity. With a marvellous foundation for attaining to Yoga.
With a fabulous plan for Seeking the Lord Alone. Him alone.
With a clear cut answer to be able to dissolve at the feet of Lord. To merge into Him.
