Paperback/eBook

Description

The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali are a fundamental text on the practice of Integrated Living, Attaining Fitness and Joy, and preparing oneself for Liberation. Ten core principles of a human life have been enumerated, viz.
1. Ahimsa,
2. Truth,
3. Non-Stealing,
4. Celibacy,
5. Non-Covetousness,
6. Cleanliness,
7. Contentedness,
8. Endurance,
9. Self-Reflection and
10. Faith.

The way to successfully integrate these core principles in life lies in the proper practice of
a) Asana - Body Postures,
b) Pranayama - Powerful Breathing techniques, and
c) Meditation -
as learnt from a Master.

It is hoped that this book, re-interpreted in the context of modern thinking and lifestyle will encourage Educational Institutions, the Medical Fraternity and Administrators worldwide to see how well the practice of Yoga, especially Pranayama and Meditation can be approached and deployed with success.

Mankind's prayer and Gurudev Sri Sri's vision of "a disease-free body, quiver-free breath, stress-free mind, inhibition-free intellect, obsession-free memory, ego that includes all, and soul which is free from sorrow" can then be easily realized.

The original Sanskrit text is given with a Latin transliteration and an English commentary.

A yogic life is that wherein excessive thought processes in the mind get moderated. When the work of senses is subdued, greater clarity, strength and vitality is achieved. We are thus able to live smoothly, gracefully, brilliantly.
