The Bhagavad Gita श्रीमद् भगवद् गीता
Verse 1.11
Bhagavad Gita Verse 1.11
अयनेषु च सर्वेषु यधाभागमवस्थिताः ।
भीष्ममेवाभिरक्षन्तु भवन्तः सर्व एव हि ।।
after having successfully marketed, after having sold, or after having bought...
after receiving a good product, what next?
after driving home the hyundai i20 what...
after having done the Advance Meditation Course what...
after moving into a new home...
when a son has been granted...
when a disciple finds a master...
when one cracks one's choice examination...
when one gets the coveted job...
when one is granted the divine companion...
Q Then what? What next? How should one function?
spend a while in deep meditation.
A the natural answer comes up.
Take good care.
Take appropriate care.
Care and protect as if it is most precious.
Maintain it to the best of your ability.
This verse 1.11 is a masterpiece.
Q who is saying?
A a King
Q to whom is the King saying?
A to his entire fleet. to his whole family. to all the troops.
Q what is he saying?
A after having established that Bhishma is the mosr valuable person. that our side has the priceless product. that we have something of great worth.
We must care, protect, nurture, follow, maintain and own it to the best of our ability. This is a king's dictum. it is a law made by the highest authority. this needs to be followed in its entirety.
Notice that herein there is no trace of any ill-emotion. This verse 1.11 is in stark contrast to verse 1.10 that carried a full load of fear-guilt-untruth on the part of evil and the masterstroke deliverance by the providential.
Verse 1.11 is free of any such stain or duality.
This is what makes the Gita so magical, so divine, so stunningly pure. Evil may come, cruelty may arise, but it finds no space, it doesn't linger, it passes away in the next breath. it is gone in the next thought. it leaves behind not a ripple.
